Austin J. Hilt, originally from Delaware, Ohio, moved to Youngstown, Ohio after acceptance into Northeast Ohio Medical University's BS/MD program. After receiving his BS from Youngstown State University in 2013, Austin enrolled in the Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health program through Youngstown State University. During his study, Austin focused on food insecurity and nutrition environments, applying these concepts to economic development in Youngstown. He has been passionately involved in service and revitalization efforts across the city and has advocated for considerations of health in further community planning and development initiatives. Austin received his MPH in August 2016 and is currently a first year medical student at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
